Mis Medi - September

Annwyl rieni,

Rydym bellach wedi derbyn rhagor o wybodaeth parthed ail-agor ysgolion ym mis Medi.

Yn fras, y cyngor i ysgolion cynradd yw;

Pwyslais ar hylendid a golchi dwylo

Cadw grwpiau o ddysgwyr ar wahan a lleihau y cysylltiadau rhwng grwpiau

Glanhau ychwanegol

O fis Medi ymlaen bydd plant yn ol yn eu dosbathiadau arferol

Defnyddio systemau un ffordd a lleihau symudiad disgyblion o gwmpas yr ysgol

Mae’r canllawiau yn cydnabod na fydd modd cadw y grwpiau ar wahan trwy’r amser e.e. ar fysiau neu amser cinio

Presenoldeb

Mae disgwyl i bob plentyn fynychu yr ysgol o fis Medi ymlaen. Gwnewch pob ymdrech os gwelwch yn dda i sicrhau fod eich plentyn yn dechrau yn ol yn yr ysgol ar Fedi’r 3ydd.

Os yw eich plentyn yn dangos unrhw rai o symptomau covid 19 mae’n hanfodol eich bod yn eu cadw adref o’r ysgol am 7 dydd neu nes iddynt ddychwelyd prawf negyddol.

Os yw unrhywun arall yn y cartref yn dangos symptomau dylech gadw eich plentyn o’r ysgol am 14 dydd.

Ymbellhau cymdeithasol

O fis Medi ymlaen ni fydd disgwyl i blant ymbellhau o’i gilydd. Er hyn byddwn yn atgoffa plant o beidio dal dwylo, cofleidio ei gilydd ac ati. Bydd disgwyl i blant hyn gadw pellter diogel o oedolion a pheidio eu cyffwrdd pan yn bosib.

Byddwn yn delio a hyn mewn modd synhwyrol a sensitive gan gofi fod plant yn anghofio weithiau.

Dechrau y diwrnod ysgol

Oherwydd fod nifer o deuluoedd a phlentyn mewn mwy nag un dosbarth a llawer yn teithoo ar fysiau rydym wedo penderfynu amrywio hyd y dydd yn ol trafnidiaeth.

Gofynwn i deuluoedd sydd yn gyrru neu gerdded i’r ysgol ddisgyn eu plant wrth y ganolfan gymuned  rhwng 9 00 a 9 15. Bydd y plant yn cerdded yn syth i’r dosbarth.

Bydd y bysiau yn cyrraedd am 9 15 a byddwn yn rhyddhau un bws ar y tro.

Diwedd y diwrnod ysgol

Byddwn yn dilyn trefniadau tebyg ar ddiwedd y dydd.

Gofynwn i rieni gasglu eu plant rhwng 3 00 a 3 15. Arhoswch wrth y Neuadd Gymued os gwelwch yn dda.

Bydd plant y cyfnod Sylfaen yn gadael fesul dosbarth o 3 00.

Bydd cyfnod allweddol 2 yn gadael o  3 15.

Bydd y bysiau yn gadael ar ol 3 30.

Trafnidiaeth

Bydd trafnidiaeth ar gael trwy Torfaen ym mis Medi. Bydd y trefniadau yn cael eu rhannu a rhieni dros yr haf – cadwch lygad yn agored am gyhoeddiadau yn ystod y gwyliau. Byddwn yn defnyddio Schoop a Twitter i hysbysu rhieni. Cadwch lygad ar gyngor y llywodraeth parthed gwisgo mygydau ar drafnidiaeth gyhoeddus.

Cinio

Bydd y Neuadd ginio ar agor o ddechrau y tymor. Mae’n byr debyg taw prydau oer fydd ar gael ar ddechrau y tymor a phrydau poeth yn dychwelyd ar y 14eg o Fedi.

Dydy hi ddim yn bosib i ni rannu yr awr ginio a rhoi cyfnod ar wahan i bob blwyddyn. Byddwn yn cynnal 3 cyfnod cinio. Yn y Neuadd ginio bydd plant o’r un flwyddyn yn rhannu bwrdd a bydd bwlch o o leiaf 2m rhwng pob bwrdd.

Bydd disgyblion sydd yn dod a brechdanau o adref yn bwyta yn y dosbarth.

O fis Medi ymlaen taliadau ar-lein yn unig fydd yn cael eu derbyn.

Bydd clwb brecwast yn ail-ddechrau ym mis Medi, bydd mwy o wybodaeth am hyn yn dilyn o’r Awdurdod Lleol.

Bagiau ysgol

Gofynwn i rieni ddanfon cyn-lleied a phosib i’r ysgol ym magiau eu plant. Caniateir llyfrau darllen, gwaith cartref a bocsys brechdanau. Peidiwch danfon pensiliau, peniau ac ati, bydd yr ysgol yn darparu rhain ar gyfer y plant.

Bydd disgwyl i bob plentyn ddod a gwisg ymarfer corf ar ddydd Llun. Bydd y bag yn dychwelyd adref i’w olchi ar ol y wers.

Ni fydd snaciau yn cael eu gwerthu amser egwyl.

Gwisg Ysgol

Disgwyliwn fod pawb yn gwisgo gwisg ysgol o fis Medi ymlaen. Bydd hyn yn helpu y disgyblion i ddod nol i drefn yr ysgol ac yn cyfranu at gynnal ethos ein hysgol.

Os oes problem a chost gwis, cysylltwch a’r ysgol gan ei bod yn bosib y gallwn gefnogi gyda hyn.

Y Cwricwlwm

Byddwn yn dysgu cwricwlwm mor eang a phosib o ddechrau y tymor. Er hyn bydd rhai elfenau yn amhosib e.e. rhannu offerynau cerddorol a rhai gemau lle mae cysylltiad corfforol agos.

Rydym yn rhagweld bydd gwersi nofio blwyddyn 4 yn ail-ddechrau yn ystod yr Hydref.

Clwb Carco

Bydd Menter Iaith yn ail-gychwyn Clwb Carco. Bydd angen addasu y ddarpariaeth ychydig i gydfynd a chanllaiwau y Llywodraeth. Bydd Menter yn cysylltu a rhieni sydd eisioes yn defnyddio y clwb dros yr haf. Gobeithir dechrau y ddarpariaeth yma o Fedi’r 14eg.

Pethau na fedrwn eu gwneud

Am y tro ni fyddwn yn gallu cynnal gwasanaethau ysgol gyfan. Er hyn bydd dosbarthiadau unigol yn cael gwasanaethau.

Am y tro ni fyddwn yn mynd ar dripiau. Byddwn yn defnyddio mwy ar yr ardal leol ar gyfer tripiau. Byddwn yn cadw llygad barcud ar y sefyllfa yma ac yn ystyried y gwerth addysgiadol posib wrth benderfynu.

Am y tro gofynwn i rieni gysylltu a’r ysgol trwy’r ffon. Os oes angen bydd modd cael cyfarfod a un rhiant ar y tro trwy apwyntiad.

Peidiwch danfon dim o’r cartref i’w rannu yn yr ysgol os gwelwch yn dda e.e. teisen benblwydd neu degannau.

Bydd yr ysgol a’r Awdurdod Lleol yn diweddaru y wybodaeth yma trwy’r haf. Daliwch i edrych ar Twitter a Schoop yr ysgol yng nghyd a gwefan Torfaen.

Dear parents,

Guidance from Government

Further guidance has now been shared by Welsh Government regarding how schools will look in September.

For primary schools the main advice is;

Increased emphasis on handwashing and sanitising

Keeping groups of learners together and reducing contact between groups

Additional cleaning during the school day

As of September children will be taught with their whole class, not in small bubbles

Use one way systems and reduce the movement of groups of children around the school

The guidance recognise that there will be times such as on transport and when eating lunch when it isn’t possible to keep all groups of pupils separate.

Attendance

Attendance at school will be expected from September. Please make every effort to ensure your child(ren) attend from September 3rd.

If your child is showing any of the four main symptoms of coronavirus – a persistent dry cough, a fever, a loss of taste or smell or if your child(ren) have tested positive for covid-19 it is vital you keep your child(ren) home for everyone’s safety. They should stay home for 7 days or until a negative test is returned.

If someone else in the household is displaying these symptoms your chil(ren) should self-isolate for 14 days or until the results of a test are known.

Social distancing

In September children won’t be expected to socially distance from each other in class but we will be reminding younger children not to hug, hold hands etc. Older children will be expected to socially distance from adults and to maintain distance and not to touch where possible.

As with this term this will be done in a constructive way and we understand that all pupils will forget social distancing rules occasionally.

Start of the school day

Because of pupils arriving on buses and many families having children in more than one class we have decided to stagger start and finish times according to transport.

We ask that parents walking or driving to school drop off between 9 00 and 9 15. We ask that parents continue to say goodbye to their children at the community hall to prevent congregating at the school gate.

The pupils arriving by bus will arrive at 9 15 and be allowed off one bus at a time to walk to class.

End of the school day

We will stagger the end of the school day in the same way.

We ask that parents collecting their children collect between 3 00 and 3 30 Again, please wait for you children at the Community Centre rather than walking down to the school.

Foundation Phase pupils will leave one class at a time from 3 00.

Key Stage 2 classes will leave one class at a time 3 15.

Buses will leave after 3 30.

Transport

There will be transport available for children in September. This will be arranged through Torfaen. Please keep an eye out over the holiday for arrangements coming directly from Torfaen. We will use Twitter and Schoop to inform parents of any information that is released. Please monitor Welsh Government advice regarding the wearing of masks on buses as this may change between now and September.

Catering

The canteen will be open for school dinners in September. It is likely that for the first two weeks of term the canteen will only be providing packed lunches. From September 14th onwards the canteen will return to serving hot meals.

It is not practical for us to give a separate slot for every class in the dinner hall – with seven classes lunch would go on for 3 ½ hours.

We will have 3 sittings for lunch so that groups of pupils can be kept separate in the dinner hall. Pupils who bring packed lunches form home will eat in class to reduce movement around the school.

In the canteen different classes will be sat on different tables and a distance of 2m kept between the tables.

Torfaen will be taking cashless payments only for school dinners. Please wait for more information from the Authority over the summer.

Breakfast Club will re-start in September. Torfaen will provide more details over the summer.

School bags

We ask that children and parents keep what is in their child’s bag to a minimum. Homework books and reading books are fine as are lunch boxes. Please don’t send in any pens or pencils as pupils will be given their own sets in school.

We ask that all pupils bring their PE kit on a Monday. Pupils will take their PE kit home after their lesson to be washed.

There won’t be a tuck shop selling fruit or toast in class so please end a snack in with your child(ren).

N.B. Can Nursery pupils still come to school in their PE kit every Tuesday please.

School Uniform

In September we ask for all pupils to be wearing school uniform. This will help children with getting back into the routine of being in school and feel a part of our school community.

If there are issues related to the cost of school uniform please contact the school as we may be able to offer support.

The curriculum

We aim to teach a broad curriculum and to continue with as much of the curriculum as possible. However, there will be parts of the curriculum such as close contact sports and the playing of certain musical instruments that won’t be possible.

We envisage that swimming lessons will resume for year 4 before half-term.

Clwb Carco

Menter Iaith will be resuming the after school provision they run on site. There will be some adaptations needed to comply with the new guidelines. Menter Iaith will contact parents who have previously used the club directly over the summer. We plan for this provision to start from Monday, September 14th. They will increase the number of spaces available in a safe and controlled roll-out of the club.

Things we won’t be able to do

For the time being we won’t be able to have whole school assemblies, however classes will have individual assemblies. The saddest part of this is that we won’t be able to invite parents to school for our prize giving assemblies for parents on Mondays. We will continue to send certificates home and share photos in the school newsletter.

We have decided not to have any trips in the short term. We will use the local area more as part of our topics and themes. We will monitor this situation carefully and judge how beneficial individual visits could be with covid restrictions in place.

We ask that parents wishing to talk to staff members do so by phone. In some cases it will be possible to have meetings with one parent at a pre-arranged time when we have rooms available to ensure social distancing.

Please don’t send anything in from home to share with other pupils such as birthday cake, toys or sweets.

Further information

The school and local authority will be updating parents as the summer holidays progress. Please continue to check the school’s Twitter and Schoop as well as Torfaen’s website for the latest news. These updates could lead to slight changes in what you have read above.

Yr eiddoch yn gywir/ Yours sincerely

Rhys ap Gwyn
