Annwyl rieni,
Ers ddechrau Awst mae vyfarfodydd wedi eu cynnal rhwng Torfaen a phenaethiaid ysgolion er mwyn paratoi ar gyfer mis Medi.
Dyma ychydig wybodaeth yn deillio o’r cyfarfodydd.
Cinio ysgol
Bydd cinio ysgol ar gael o ddechrau y tmor (Medi’r 3ydd). Mae’n bosib taw brechdanau fydd ar gael ar y 4ydd a’r 5ed gyda phrydau poeth ar gael o Fedi’r 7ed ymlaen.
Bydd system ar-lein o dalu am ginio yn cael ei roi menw lle. Mae’n bosib y bydd system dros dro mewn lle i gychwyn.
Clwb Brecwast
Bydd clwb brecwast yn ail-ddechrau ym mis Medi. Torfaen sydd yn gyfrifol am glybiau brecwast yn hytrach na’r ysgol ac mae trafodaethau yn mynd yn eu blaen yng nghylch pryd a sut yn union bydd y clwb yn rhedeg.
Y prif ofid i ni fel ysgol ar hyn o bryd yw sut i gadw bubbles o ddisgyblion ar wahan yn y clwb.
Trafnidiaeth ysgol
Disgwylir i drafnidiaeth ysgol i redeg ym mis Medi fel yr oedd cyn i’r ysgol gau. Bydd disgyblion yn cael eu casglu/disgyn o’r un arhosfanau ac o’r blaen.
Bydd mwy o wybodaeth yn dilyn o’r awdurdod am ba gwmniau fydd yn gyfrifol am y tethiau.
Gwisg ysgol
Disgwylir i ddisgyblion fod mewn gwisg ysgol o ddechrau y tymor ym mis Medi.
Gor-bryder disgyblion
Mae’n siwr bydd rhai disgyblion yn bryderus am ddychwelyd i’r ysgol ar ol bod i ffwrdd am gyfnod hir.
Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi creu fideo fer ar gyfer helpu disgyblion i ymdopi a hyn.

Bydd yr ysgol ar agor i staff ar Fedi’r 1af a’r ail flly mae modd trefnu i’ch plentyn ddod i weld yr ysgol a newidiadau sydd mewn lle – trefnwch apwyntiad trwy e-bost os gwelwch yn dda.
Rwy’n disgwyl mwy o wybodaeth o’r Awdurdod yr wythnos hon a’r wythnos nesaf. Byddaf yn rhannu y wybodaeth hyn cyn gynted a sydd yn bosib.
Dear parents,
Since the beginning of August there have been a number of meetings between Torfaen and headteachers planning and preparing for September.
Here is some information that has been confirmed at these meetings.
Catering
School dinners will be available from the first day of term (September 3rd) – it is possible that for the first two days they will be packed lunches but hot meals should be available from Monday September 7th.
A cashless system will be put in place for paying for school dinners. It is likely we will have to use a temporary system – the system used for school trips, before we are able to use the cashless catering system many of you with children in Gwynllyw will be familiar with. On a positive note we will be getting this system for free saving the school a few thousand pounds.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club will be restarting in September. Torfaen are still in discussions regarding how and when. This was due to be discussed by various departments and councillors on August 14th but I haven’t received an update yet.
The issue for us as a school (and all other schools) will be how to keep pupils in their bubbles and maintain social distancing in the breakfast club.
Transport
School transport will be up and running from September 3rd. Pupils will be picked up and dropped off at their usual bus stops. We are still awaiting confirmation of times, but they are likely to be the same, or at least very similar to what they were previously.
Further information will come from Torfaen regarding which company will be collecting children as there are restrictions on the number of routes one bus/bus driver can drive.
School uniform
We expect all children to be in school uniform from September.
Anxiety amongst pupils
After such a long period off school it is only natural that some pupils are anxious about returning to school in September. This link is to a video prepared by Welsh Government (it is aimed at those who have been shielding but could be helpful to other children.

School is open to staff on the 1st and 2nd of September so if any children would like a walkthrough of the building for re-assurance that is possible. Please contact me by email so that we can arrange a time for this.
I expect a further update from Torfaen at the end of this week and at the end of next week. I will share information from these meeting with families as quickly as possible.
