January - Ionawr

11.12.2020

Mis Ionawr - January

Annwyl rieni,

Prynhawn yma derbyniais gyngor gan Torfaen y dylem baratoi i ddysgu ar lein barhau tan ddiwedd Ionawr. Does dim sicrwydd o hyn ond gan nad oes dyddiad pendant eto gan Llywodraeth Cymru, maen rhaid i ni ddechrau cynllunio o rhywle.

Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn bydd yr ysgol yn parhau i agora r gyfer plant gweithwyr allweddol.

Er mwyn i ni allu cynllunio rydym yn gofyn i rieni sydd yn weithwyr allweddol gwblhau y ffurflen ar schoop er mwyn sicrhau lle.

Dyma fraslun o’r ddarpariaeth fydd yn yr ysgol;

  • Bydd yr ysgol ar agor o 8 30 tan 3 45.
  • Bydd y plant mewn swigod o ddim mwy na 10.
  • Ni fydd y plant gyda eu athrawon arferol. Bydd y staff yn gweithio i amserlen sydd yn eu galluogi i addysgu ar lein hefyd.
  • Bydd trafnidiaeth ar gael o’r 11eg, plis gadewch i ni wybod cyn gynted a sydd yn bosib os hoffech hyn fel y gall trefniadau gael eu gwneud.
  • Bydd cinio ysgol ar gael o’r 18ed o Ionawr. Hyd hynny bydd angen brechdanau.
  • Dim ond ar gyfer eu sesiynau arferol y gall plant Meithrin ddod i’r ysgol.

Mi fyddaf ar gael yn yr ysgol trwy’r dydd yfory ar gyfer unrhyw ymholiadau.

Dear parents,

In a meeting today schools have been advised by Torfaen to plan for the possibility of online learning to continue throughout January. There is no guarantee of this, but in the absence of an exact date from Welsh Government we need somewhere from which to start planning.

During this period school will remain open for key worker children. This will be at Ysgol Bryn Onnen but should only be used when no other options are available for key workers to be able to work.

So that plans can be made for transport, meals, staffing, cleaning etc we ask that any parents who would like to use our key worker provision from Monday the 11th of January to Friday the 29th of January complete the form on Schoop to let us know.

Forms need to be completed by 1 00 on Friday (8th of Jan). The system will then be locked for the remainder of the month. If in a worst case scenario this continues into February then we will start the process again.

The form asks for days of the week when your child will be attending. We understand that people’s shifts occasionally change so we have some flexibility. However, please don’t book the whole week when you don’t need the provision every day as you may be taking the place of another pupil who needs the provision.

Here are some details regarding what the provision will be like in school;

  • Breakfast club will be available and school will open from 8 30.
  • We will close at 3 45 (you may collect earlier if this fits your shift patterns better)
  • Pupils will be grouped into bubbles of no more than 10. Bubbles won’t mix.
  • Pupils will not be with their regular teacher. Staff will be working on a rota basis and providing online learning the rest of the time.
  • Staff will prepare activities for pupils and there will be time for pupils to work online.
  • School transport will be available from Monday the 11th of January. Please let the school know ASAP if you need this so that arrangements can be made with the bus companies.
  • The canteen will be closed until the 18th of January so pupils will need a packed lunch. We can still provide snacks and fruit. It is planned that from the 18th some hot meals are available from the kitchen – again numbers from parents here are really important so that we can ensure enough food is available but no unnecessary waste.
  • For Nursery pupils whose parents are key workers they can only attend school for the same sessions as they normally would.

If you have any queries please email or phone the school tomorrow where I will be available to answer any questions.

Yr eiddoch yn gywir/ Yours sincerely

Rhys ap Gwyn
