Dydy y gwasanaeth ddim yn cynnig cyngor un i un ar hyn o bryd ond maent yn gallu rhoi cyngor i rieni trwy linell ffon - 01633 453035

Pontio Blwyddyn 6

Fel arfer mi fyddai disgyblion blwyddyn 6 yn gweithio ar gynlluniau a gwiethagreddau pontio yn paratoi tuag at symud i Wynllyw. Eleni bu raid newid o’r trefniadau arferol on dmae Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw wedi bod yn brysur yn creu cylchgrawn a thaith rhithiol o gwmpas yr ysgol.

Maent yn bennaf wedi eu hannelu at ddisgyblion blwyddyn 6  ond meant yn addas i nifer fawr o’n teuluoedd.

Llywodraethwyr yr ysgol

Mae’r bwrdd llywodraethol yn dal if od a chyfrifoldeb am reolaeth yr ysgol yn ystod yr argyfwng. Maent wedi derbyn canllawiau gan y llywodraeth yn amlinellu sut ellir gwneud hyn menw modd diogel.

Byddwn yn rhannu mwy o fanylion gyda rhieni pan fydd y llywodraeth yn cyhoeddi pryd bydd ysgolion yn ail-agor a pha ddisgyblion fydd yn dychwelyd gyntaf.

Gwaith disgyblion

Mae holl staff yr ysgol yn gwerthfawrogi ymdrechion rhieni i gefnogi plant gyda cwblhau gwaith yn y ty. Peidiwch a theimlo o dan bwysau i gwblhau pob tasg, gwnewch cymaint ag sydd yn bosib o dan yr amgylchiadau yn eich cartref.

Hefyd, cymrwch y gyfle i ymlacio dros hanner tymor.

Dear Parent / Guardian,

I hope all of Ysgol Bryn Onnen’s families are well and keeping safe.

Support for Children

This long period out of school is difficult for children, parents and staff. Children like routine and many are missing their friends.

As a school we regularly use Cwmbran Centre for Young People to support some of our children with counselling. They are unable to offer face to face sessions at the moment, but they are offering an advice line for parents.

They can be contacted through their message line; 01633 453035

or via Instagram; ccyp_counselling.

There is also excellent advice for parents, specific to concerns about coronavirus and lockdown, on the NSPCC’s website.

Year 6 transition to Gwynllyw

At this time of year Year 6 are usually busy with transition tasks and events preparing for moving to secondary school. These events involve opportunities to meet key staff and visit the school to get familiar with the layout and new routines.

Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw have worked very hard to make many of these opportunities available online.

They are publishing a weekly magazine;

And, have recorded a virtual tour around the school;

Both are aimed at year 6 but are relevant to other year groups too.

School Governors

The school’s Governing Body continue to be responsible for how the school is managed during lockdown. Guidance has been given by the government on how this scan be done safely. The full Governing Body had their first virtual meeting on May 18th. One of the items on the agenda was to discuss preparations for the gradual re-opening of schools. At the moment there isn’t a date for when this will happen in Wales plans are beginning to be put in place for how the school could open in a safe manner. We will give a far more detailed message to parents on how we plan to maintain social distancing, increase the emphasis on hand washing and other changes we need to make when we have more details from Welsh Government regarding when and how schools will re-open.

Pupils’ work

We are very grateful to parents for all of the effort they are putting in to home-schooling. Don’t feel under pressure to complete any tasks, just do as much as you and your children are able to do.

Also please treat yourselves to a well-deserved break next week over half-term.

Here are some examples of pupils’ work. I will continue to include pupil work in the newsletter so if you have any examples you are willing to share please send them to me.

Mwynhewch y Gwyliau Banc.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend!

Yr eiddoch yn gywir / Yours sincerely,

Mr. Rh ap Gwyn

 Pennaeth / Headteacher
