Gobeithio fod pawb yn ddiogel ac yn iach yn ystod y cyfnod cythryblus hwn.

Ar hyn o bryd mae ein staff yn cynorthwyo i redeg Hwb ar gyfer plant gweithwyr allweddol sydd wedi ei leoli yn Ysgol Blaenafon.

Rydym wedi bod yn cydweithio gyda staff Blaenafon, Garnteg, Cwmffrwdoer ac Ysgol Uwchradd Abersychan.

Rwy’n siwr fod pawb yn mwynahu y profiad o fod yn “athrawon dros dro” yn eu cartrefi!!

Mae y gweithagreddau yma ar gael trwy’r Gymraeg a’r Saesneg a bydd gwersi dyddiol yn dechrau o ddydd Llun, Ebrill 20ed.

Yn bersonol, rwyf wedi dysgu yn ystid y cyfnod hwn faint mor lwcus ydw i gael gweithio pob dydd yn Ysgol Bryn Onnen. Rwy’n gwybod hefyd fod yr holl staff yn colli y cyfle i wiethio gyda’r plant a rwy’n siwr fod eich plant yn colli eu ffrindiau. Gobeithio yn fuan a cawn ddychwelyd i’r ysgol – er na fydd yn union fel yr ydym wedi arfer.

Hoffwn ddanfon cylchlythyron tra fod yr ysgol ar gau felly os oes lluniau o’ch plant yn cwblhau tasgau neu lluniau o’u gwaith rhannwch nhw a mi trwy ebost os gwelwch yn dda.

Dear Parent / Guardian,

I hope everyone is keeping healthy and safe in these very difficult and unusual times.

Currently staff from Ysgol Bryn Onnen are supporting with running a Hub for key workers’ children at Blaenavon Heritage School.

We have been joined by staff from Blaenavon HVC, Garnteg, Cwmffrwdoer and Abersychan Comp.

I’m sure you are all enjoying the home-schooling experience – teaching isn’t as easy as it looks is it!!

To help the government has set up daily lessons which will start on Monday from the BBC’s Bitesize website.

There are activities there for all year groups – they also cover a wide range of subjects which is something we have struggled to do as individual teachers. The activities are there in English and Welsh (and Gaelic if you are feeling brave). Choose which ever language suits your home circumstances best – nobody is going to check up on you or tell your children off for using the wrong one.

Again – these activities are there to help, please don’t feel under pressure to complete them.

One thing I have learnt during isolation is how lucky I am to be able to work at Ysgol Bryn Onnen daily. I know staff are missing the opportunity to work with the children and I’m sure many of your children are missing their friends, teachers and support staff.

I would like to continue to send newsletters while the school is closed. So if you have any photos of your children completing any activities or any work they have completed please email them to me. These don’t need to be tasks set by teachers – anything you and your children are proud of.

Hopefully we will be back in school, in some form, soon.
