Annwyl Riant / Warcheidwad,
Rydym wedi cyrraedd diwedd y flwyddyn. Mae’r 9 mis diwethaf wedi hedfan heibio ac fel ysgol rydym wedi llwyddo i gyflawni cymaint er gwaethaf yr heriau.
Rhaid i mi ganmol ymddygiad ac agwedd ein disgyblion. Mae eu bywydau wedi eu heffeithio gymaint gan y pandemig ond mae pob un ohonynyt wedi addasu ac mae gweld y wen ar eu wynebau pan ddont i mewn i’r ysgol wedi bod yn arbennig. Mae pob un ohonynt wedi ein rhyfeddu gyda’i aeddfedrwydd a rydym yn falch iawn o bob un.
Mae staff Ysgol Bryn Onnen wedi bod yn rhagorol eleni eto. Maent wedi addasu i’r normal newydd ac wedi darapru gwersi ar-lein a gweithio mewn swigod. Maent hefyd wedi sicrhau safon uchel o ofal ar gyfer pob disgybl wrth iddynt ddychwelyd o’r cyfnod clo a chyfnodau ynysu. Rydym mor lwcus i gael athrawon a staff cynorthwyol mor ymroddgar yn gweithio gyda’n plant. Os gwelwch yn dda ceisiwch ffeindio ychydig eiliadau yn ystod yr wythnos olaf i ddiolch iddynt.
Hoffwn ddiolch o galon i chi fel rhieni am eich cwefnogaeth a dealltwriaeth yn ystod y flwyddyn. Rydym wedi gorfod newid trefniadau y dydd ac mae nifer o’r digwyddiadau pwysig megis cyngherddau a mabolgampau wedi eu gohirio. Gobeithio y flwyddyn nesaf gallwn edrych ymlaen gyda’n gilydd at weithagreddau fel hyn yn ail-ddechrau.
Ar ddiwedd blwyddyn fel hyn rydym hefyd yn ffarwelio a rhai wynebau cyfarwydd. Mae ein disgyblion blwyddyn 6 anhygoel yn gadael am yr ysgol uwchradd. Er i’w bywydau cael eu effeithio fwy nag unrhywun gan y pandemig dydyn nhw ddim wedi cwyno un waith. Mae eu positifrwydd a chryfder eu cymeriad yn esiampl i ni gyd.
Mae Mrs Teruel yn ein gadael ar ol dros 15 mlynedd ym Mryn Onnen. Dros y blynyddoedd mae dros 500 o ddisgyblion wedi bod o dan ei gofal ac mae hi wedi helpu i ddatblygu nifer fawr o aelodau staff. Bydd pawb yn gweld ei heisiau yn enfawr.
Bydd Miss Loveridge hefyd yn ein gadael i ddecharu swydd newydd gyda’r Urdd.
Rydym yn dymuno yn dda i bob un sydd yn ein gadael dros yr haf.
Hefyd bydd Miss Evans yn priodi dros yr haf. Rydym yn dymuno yn dda iddi a phan fyddwn yn dychwelyd ym mis Medi bydd raid i bawb gofio ei galw yn Mrs Jones.
Mwynhewch y gwyliau ac edrychwn ymlaen at weld ein disgyblion yn dychwelyd i’r ysgol ar ddydd Llun, Medi’r 6ed.
Dear Parent / Guardian,
We have reached the end of another school year! The last 9 months seem to have flown by and as a school we have done so much in such a short and unusual period of time.
I must praise our pupils’ behaviour and attitude this year. Their lives have been impacted so much by the pandemic but they have adapted very quickly and seeing the smiles on their faces when they come to school is a big part of the reason why the year seems to have flown by. From the youngest up to the eldest pupils they have astonished staff with their maturity and as parents you should all be very proud of them all.
Ysgol Bryn Onnen’s staff have also been truly fantastic this year. They have adapted quickly to the “new normal” in schools such as working in bubbles and providing online learning for pupils. They have also ensured that all pupils in their class have been given all the care that they need as they returned to school. We are very lucky to have such committed and caring teachers and support staff working with our children. Please take a few seconds of your time during this last week to thank them for their excellent work.
I would like to thank all parents and guardians for the co-operation and support you have given the school as we implemented changes such as staggered timetables and many of the events such as sports days and concerts that I know you enjoy so much have had to be cancelled. This is greatly appreciated by all staff at the school – hopefully next year we will be able to hold these events that families enjoy so much.
At the end of the year it is time to bid farewell to some familiar faces who will be leaving Ysgol Bryn Onnen. Our fantastic Year 6 pupils have been a credit to us all. Despite missing out on some of the opportunities pupils in their last year usually get due to the pandemic they haven’t complained once and they have shown resilience and strength of character that make us all proud of them. They are one of the kindest groups of children we have had at the school for a long time and it has been great to see how they have looked after each other throughout the year.
Mrs Teruel will be leaving Ysgol Bryn Onnen having worked here since 2005. During that time more than 500 pupils have passed through her care and all have been provided with an excellent education. She has worked with, supported and helped develop numerous staff and we are very sad to see her leave.
Miss Loveridge will also be leaving us to take up a post with the Urdd.
We wish all of those that are leaving Ysgol Bryn Onnen well in the future.
In the summer holidays Miss Evans will be getting married. When she returns in September she will be Mrs Jones! We all wish Miss Evans a very happy day.
Enjoy the summer holidays and we look forward to seeing all of our pupils return ready for another year at Ysgol Bryn Onnen on Monday, September 6th.
Mwynhewch y gwyliau.
Enjoy the holiday!
Yr eiddoch yn gywir / Yours sincerely,
Mr. Rh ap Gwyn
Pennaeth / Headteacher
