Annwyl Riant / Warcheidwad,

Gweithdai Flogio

Daeth Ameer Rana Davies o S4C i’r ysgol i wneud gweithdai Flogio gyda blynyddoedd 4,5 a 6. Esboniodd Ameer i’r plant faint mor bwysig oedd yr iaith Gymraeg i’w waith a faint o gyfleoedd ychwanegol y mae wedi cael wrth siarad yr iaith.

Ail-gylchu plastig

Daeth swyddogion o Gyngor Torfaen i’r ysgol ar ddydd Mercher i wylio blwyddyn 4 yn perfformio eu can ail-gylchu. Ysgrifenwyd y gân gan Leah, un o ddisgyblion blwyddyn 4.

Hefyd daeth gweithwyr o Capital Valley Plsdtics i’r ysgol i lawnsio eu cystadleuaeth ail gylchu plastig hyblyg. Mae Capital Valley Plastics yn cynnig £300 i’r ysgol sydd yn ail-gylchu y mwyaf o blastig. Cadwch i ddanfon plastig i’r ysgol i ail-gylchu os gwelwch yn dda.

Cyngerdd Dydd Gwyl Dewi Menter Iaith

Mae Menter Iaith yn cynnal Cyngerdd Gwyl Ddewi yng Nghanolfan Hamdden Pontypwl ar ddydd Sadwrn yn dechrau am 1 30. Bydd rhai o ein disgyblion yn perfformio – dewch i’w gwylio!

Cystadleauaeth

Rydym wedi derbyn gwahoddiad i gymryd rhan mewn cystadleuaeth i gynllunio poster ar gyfer Gwyl Haf Llynoedd y Garn. Bydd wyau pasg yn wobrau i’r gorau ymhob dosbarth a thocyn llyfr o £20 i’r enillydd tryw’r ysgol.

Diwrnod y Llyfr

Mae diwrnod y llyfr ar ddydd Iau, Mawrth y 5ed. Gall disgyblion ddod i’r ysgol wedi gwisgo fel eu hoff gymeriad o lyfr.

Vlogging Workshops

Years 4,5 and 6 had vlogging workshops with Ameer Rana Davies from S4C. Ameer also spoke to the pupils about how important the Welsh language was to his work and how many extra opportunities he has had because of his ability to speak Welsh.

A big thank you to Ameer and to Delyn Fritter from Menter Iaith for organising the event.

Stretchy Plastic Recycling

Officers from Torfaen Waste and Recycling and Councillor Fiona Cross came to school on Wednesday to see year 4 perform their recycling song which was written by Leah, a pupil in year 4.

They were joined by representatives from Capital Valley Plastics who have been recycling the stretchy plastic we have collected in our bin. Capital Valley Plastic have launched a competition between Torfaen schools with a prize of £300 for the school that collects the most stretchy plastic. So please keep sending stretchy plastic in with your children to recycle.

Menter Iaith St David’s Day Concert

Menter Iaith are holding a St David’s Day concert at Pontypool Leisure Centre on Saturday, starting at 1 30. Some of our pupils are taking part – come and watch!

Garn Lakes Summer Fete Competition

We have been invited to take part in a competition creating posters for the Garn Lakes Summer Fete. There will be Easter egg prizes for the winners in every class and the best poster from the whole school will win a £20 book voucher.

Posters can contain the following information;

The most important thing is that the posters show the name of the event and the date. For younger children the other details can be added at a later date.

Entries should be returned to school by Friday, March 6^th. Please make sure your child’s name and class is clearly written on the back of your poster.

World Book Day

World Book Day is on Thursday, March 5^th. Pupils can come to school dressed as their favourite book characters. There will be book voucher prizes for the winners in each class.
