Annwyl Riant / Warcheidwad,
Cwricwlwm i Gymru
Mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi bod yn datblygu cwricwlwm newydd i Gymru. Fel ysgol rydym yn brysur yn treialu defnyddiau yn y dosbarth.
Y prif wahaniaethau y byddwch yn gweld fel rhieni yw bydd y cwricwlwm cyfan yn cylchdroi o gwmpas y 4 diben, sef;
Yn ogystal mae’r cwricwlwm wedi rhannu yn 6 Ardal Profiad a Dysgu, yn hytrach na phynciau traddodiadol.
Sgrinio tyfiant
Bydd y bwrdd iechyd yn sgrinio taldra a phwysau disgyblion y Dosbarth Derbyn ar ddydd Mawrth. Mae llythyron eisioes wedi dod adref. Mae y llythyrau ar gyfer optio allan o’r sgrinio. Os ydych eisiau i’ch plentyn gymryd rhan does dim angen gwneud dim.
Salwch
Pan fo plentyn yn sal mae modd hysbysu yr ysgol ar y ffon neu trwy Schoop. Pan fyddwch yn cysylltu a fedrwch fanylu am y rheswm a m y rabsenoldeb os gwelwch yn dda. Mae angen i ni wybod rheswm manylach na “sal” neu “ddim yn dda” e.e. pen tost, bola tost.
COFIWCH FOD YR SYGOL YNG NGHAU AR Ebrill 30ain A MAI 3YDD.
Dear Parent / Guardian,
Curriculum for Wales
Welsh Government is currently rolling out a whole new curriculum for schools in Wales. The curriculum will be one continuous curriculum from 3-16 instead of split into key stages as we have currently.
At the moment Ysgol Bryn Onnen is trialling new topics as we work towards implementing the new curriculum. One of the main aims of the new curriculum is to give schools more responsibility for designing their own curriculum to suit the needs of their pupils and to reflect the heritage and history of the school’s local area.
The main differences you will notice as parents are;
The curriculum revolves around the Four Purposes, which are;
Also the curriculum isn’t split into subjects but into six Areas of Learning and Experience (AOLE)
The topics each class studies will develop the pupils’ skills in all of the 6 AOLEs and all the work should revolve around the 4 purposes.
When Covid protocols allow we will arrange workshops for parents to give a fuller picture of how the new curriculum will impact on your children’s learning.
Growth Screening
ABUHB will be carrying out Growth Screening in Dosbarth Derbyn on Tuesday May 4th. The forms sent to families are opt out forms. If you don’t want your children to be screened please return the signed from to school. If you would like ABUHB to carry out the screening – there is no need to do anything.
Reporting Sickness
Thanks to all parents who report sickness promptly to school. Remember it is possible to use the form on Schoop as well as telephone the school. When reporting illness we need to know the exact reason for absence so that data can be recorded accurately so please avoid giving reasons such as ill or unwell. Can you please state if your child has been vomiting, has a temperature a headache etc.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is now fully up and running in the mornings. Can parents please drop their children off between 8 30 and 8 40. After this time staff will be busy serving breakfast so are unable to answer the door to pupils arriving after 8 40.
REMEMBER THE SCHOOL IS COSED ON FRIDAY APRIL 30TH AND MONDAY MAY 3RD.
Mwynhewch y penwythnos.
Enjoy the weekend!
Yr eiddoch yn gywir / Yours sincerely,
Mr. Rh ap Gwyn
Pennaeth / Headteacher
