Dear parents,

A very Happy New Year to all of you!

This letter started as a simple list of dates for the coming year but has mutated dangerously to include further details of online learning as information has trickled from Welsh Government.

Here are a list of term dates for 2021-2022.

Half term holidays Monday 15th  of February – Friday 19th of February

Easter holidays Monday 29th of March – Friday 9th of April

Whitsun half-term Monday 31st of May – Friday 4th of June

End of Summer term Tuesday, 20th of July

Start of 2021-2022 school year Thursday September 2nd (Please note it is highly likely the first two days will be training days with children starting back on Monday 6th)

Online work

All teachers have been providing online work for pupils since the 4th of January. Can you please ensure your children make every effort to take part. When we return the children will be building on tasks and topics that they have covered at home.

Key Stage 2 teachers are providing work through Hwb and pupils should be able to access this and complete most of the work independently. It is very similar to what they would be doing of they were in class. Teachers are available via their Hwb email for more guidance and from Monday there will be face to face sessions provided (these are available in some classes already)

Foundation Phase teachers are using Class Dojo. Due to the children’s age it is likely they will need some support at home with the tasks. This isn’t due to the children struggling it is because of their age and many will not have developed the independence to complete the tasks on their own.

Teachers are more than happy to support and give additional advice through the messaging service on Dojo.

Wellbeing Videos

During this lockdown we will be posting regular wellbeing videos online. The first is up already;

Please join Mrs Lewis-Creel for a yoga session for the whole family. Please share photos or videos of your family participating. We will be adding a variety of videos over the coming weeks.

(The video is also available on Class Dojo)

Online Assembly

On Friday, January 15th we will have our first online assembly. We will be awarding pupil of the week certificates and other certificates for excellent effort.

Key Stage 2 pupils can join on Microsoft Teams at 2 pm and Foundation Phase pupils can join via Class Dojo at the same time.

Yr eiddoch yn gywir/ Yours sincerely
