Presenoldeb

Mae presenoldeb da yn bwysig ar gyfer pob disgybl. Mae tystiolaeth yn dangos fod disgyblion sydd yn colli ysgol yn cwympo nol yn eu gwaith ac yn ei chael yn anodd i wneud ffrindiau. Mae gan yr ysgol darged presenoldeb o 95% ar gyfer y flwyddyn. Ar hyn o bryd ein presenoldeb cyfartaleddog yw 94.5%. Gweithiwch gyda ni wrth i ni geisio cyrraedd ein targed os gwelwch yn dda.

Trafnidiaeth

A wnaiff pawb gymryd gofal wrth yrru yn agos i safle yr ysgol os gwelwch yn dda. Cymrwch ofal arbennig ar ddiwedd y dydd a byddwch yn amyneddgar wrth aros i’r bysiau symud.

Dathliad

Ym mis Medi bydd yr ysgol yn 25 oed. Byddwn yn cynnal gweithgareddau yn ystod y flwyddyn i ddathlu hyn. Os oes gennych unrhyw luniau o’r cyfnod pan agorodd yr ysgol byddem yn ddiolchgar iawn pe basech yn fodlon eu rhannu gyda ni.

Hefyd, os ydych mewn cysylltiad a unrhyw ddisgyblion oedd yn yr ysgol ym 1995 gadewch iddyn nhw wybod am y dathliadau.

Happy New Year Everyone

At the start of the year I would like to remind everyone of a few key messages.

Attendance

Good attendance is very important for all pupils. We consistently see patterns where pupils whose attendance is low fall behind with their work. Also pupils who miss a lot of school can find it more difficult to make friendships as other children make other friends in their absence. The school has a target attendance of 95% for this school year – this is a target for the whole school, not individual pupils. At the moment our average attendance is 94. 5%. Please work with us for the rest of the year to increase our attendance so that we can reach our target.

Traffic

Please be very careful when dropping off and collecting your children near the school. At the end of the day in particular can drivers please be patient and not try to weave in and out past buses and walkers.

The School Council will be writing to parents about this issue next week.

Celebrations

In September we will be celebrating 25 years as a school on this site – previously a small Welsh Language Unit had been in place in Pontnewynydd. Clearly this is an important occasion and we intend to celebrate it. If any of you have photos etc from the time the school opened we would be very grateful if you could share them with us. Also, if you know any pupils who were at the school when it opened please get in touch as we would like to invite them to join us for a celebration later in the year.
