3.6.2020
Annwyl Riant / Warcheidwad,
Mae’n siwr i chi glywed y cyhoeddiad gan y Gweinidog Addysg heddiw yng nghylch ail-agor ysgolion ar y 29ain o Fehefin.
Doedd y newyddion yma ddim yn annisgwyl felly rydym eisioes wedi dechrau gweithio tuag at ail-agor yr ysgol.
Hyd yma;
Mae’r Bwrdd Llywodraethol wedi cwrdd ar Mai y 18fed a penderfynwyd creu is-bwyllgor a chyfrifoldeb am drefniadau ail-agor.
Cyfarfu yr is-bwyllgor ar Fai y 27ain, yn yr ysgol, i gychwyn trefnu llwybrau diogel.
Mae’r is-bwyllgor yn cyfarfod eto yfory (4.6.20) i drafod ymhellach.
Bydd 1 cyfarfod llawn arall o’r llywodraethwyr cyn i’r ysgol ail-agor.
Mae cynllun manwl wedi ei rannu a’r Awdurdod Lleol yn amlinellu sut i ail-agor.
Mi hoffwn allu rhannu y cynllun yma gyda chi nawr ond rhaid disgwyl yn gyntaf am fwy o fanylion gan y llywodraeth a’r awdurdod.
E,e.
Am faint fydd pob disgybl yn yr ysgol?
Faint o blant fydd ymhob dosbarth?
Fydd y plant yn yr ysgol trwy’r dydd?

Arlwyo
Rwy’n bwriadu rhannu y cynllun a rhieni wythnos nesaf ond mae hyn yn ddibynol ar eraill.
Yn ei hanerchiad dywedodd y Gweinidog nad oes raid i unrhywun ddanfon eu plant i’r ysgol. Yr wythnos nesaf byddaf yn danfon holiadur at rieni er mwyn cael syniad o’r nifer o blant fydd yn dod nol. Bydd hyn yn fy helpu i gynllunio nifer y dosbarthiadau ac adonddau sydd angen.
Pan fydd yr ysgol yn ail-agor bydd yn dra gwahanol i sut yr oedd ym Mis Mawrth. Yn ystod yr wythnosau nesaf byddwn yn rhannu gwybodaeth gyda rhieni a phlant fel y gall pawb baratoi. Mae plant yn aml yn ein syfrdanu a’u gallu i ymdopi a newidiadau.
Pan fydd yr ysgol yn ail-agor bydd yr holl staff, unwaith eto, yn ymroi i greu awyrgylch diogel a hapus yn Ysgol Bryn Onnen.
Dear Parent / Guardian,
School re-opening
Many of you will have heard the announcement today that schools in Wales are to begin re-opening from the 29th of June.
This news wasn’t entirely unexpected so the school has been making initial plans for how we can re-open safely.
So far;
The whole Governing Body met virtually on May 18th where a sub-committee was chosen to concentrate on potential school re-opening.
The sub-committee met at the school on May the 27th to look at how classrooms and paths around the school could be re-arranged to fit with social distancing guidelines.
The sub-committee have another virtual meeting scheduled for tomorrow (4.6.20) to discuss the Minister’s announcement and plan ahead.
There will be another full Governing Body meeting before school re-opens.
The school has already submitted a detailed plan to the Local Authority outlining how we plan to re-open – we will be able to share this plan with parents well in advance of re-opening.
I would share it with you now but I need further details first from Government and Torfaen.
E.g.
How many days schooling do we need to give each year group?
What ratios are expected in each small class?
Will children be in school for the whole day?
School transport
Catering
My aim is to get the plan to you by the end of next week but it depends on how quickly this information comes to hand.
The Minister also made it clear that it will be up to parents to decide if they send their child or children to school. When I send our re-opening plan I will also be sending a survey to parents to gauge how many will be sending their children to school. This doesn’t need to be a firm answer, just an indication so that we can plan the number of classrooms and resources we will need.
When we re-open school will be quite different to how it was in March. Over the coming weeks we will share information with parents and children explaining how school will look so that everyone is prepared.
Government have promised guidelines early next week following which I can give you a clearer picture of how a day and week at the school will look. I’m sure it will feel quite strange at the beginning but children are able to adapt very quickly and often it is us as adults who find change difficult. When the school re-opens all staff will be as committed as ever to ensure Ysgol Bryn Onnen is a safe and happy environment for everyone.
Yr eiddoch yn gywir / Yours sincerely,
Mr. Rh ap Gwyn
Pennaeth / Headteacher
