AGM – Ysgol Bryn Onnen, Friends of Bryn Onnen – 2015/16
 
Chairperson Report
 
This report is my final one as the Chairperson of Friends of Bryn Onnen (PTA). I have fully enjoyed my time as the chair, but now is the right time for me to move over and let others take the lead.
 
Over the last 4 to 5 years of me being involved with Friend of Bryn Onnen so many people have helped, and I would like to thank each and every one of you/them personally but that would take up pages and pages. So please accept my gratitude and thanks for everything you have all done over the years with your help and commitment to Friends of Bryn Onnen. Special thanks, as always, belong to:
My Friends of Bryn Onnen committee – without you there would be no Friends of Bryn Onnen!
Mr Parry, the teachers and staff at the school – who have support events after school, on the weekend, and putting time aside in classes to make items to sell at fetes.
Family, friends who come along to all the events, fetes, concerts, and sometimes get dragged into helping out.
 
Throughout the years that I have been the chair we have raised much needed funds for the school. We have purchased many items, one off events for the children, and pay for the busses for school trips (which helps keep the cost down for parents). Examples of purchases are:

• Musical instruments – including 2 harps, recorders, percussion instruments, keyboards
• Sports uniform
• Foundation Stage Outdoor Equipment – for all infants to enjoy playing and learning in
• Different visitors to the school, a potter and author

• Trips and transport hire for the pupils – ongoing each and every year

• Christmas Party items, food and gifts – ongoing each and every year
• We will be funding the painting of new football and netball pitches on the school yard
• Classrooms to have new visualisers.
• New computers for the IT Suite.

 
I am pleased to say that following the last Friends of Bryn Onnen meeting, there was enough interest shown to carry on. However, as I mentioned at the beginning of my report, this is my last report as Chair, and I will not be standing for re-election of the position. I know that there are new bunch of innovated and enthusiastic people that have joined the committee and I have full confidence in them being able to carry on over the coming years, the great success of Friends of Bryn Onnen. I will of course always be around to help with hotdogs!!
 
Final note, please keep supporting Friends of Bryn Onnen, whether you are part of the committee or turn up to support for the events that are planned.
